This method is used for the determination of cobalt and compounds as cobalt. The sample is collected on cellulose ester membrane filters, ashing: aqua regia @ 140 °C, concentrated nitric acid @ 140 °C, room temperature 30 min,140 °C to near dryness, and then analyzed by flame atomic absorption. The working range is 0.01 to 0.3 mg/m³ for a 300 L sample. This is an elemental analysis and not compound specific. Verify that the types of compounds in the samples are soluble with this ashing procedure. Aliquots of samples can be analyzed separately for approximately four additional methods. NOTE: This method combines and replaces P&CAM 173, S203 for cobalt. Method 7300 (elements by ICP-AES) is an alternate analytical technique.
No Obligation Quotation for Analytical Services
If you would like us to provide a quote for laboratory analysis, just provide us with as much information as you can about your project (the more, the better) and we'll provide you a quote via email. As you are searching or browsing our Analytical Guide, you'll see the Request-A-Quote icon... just click on it to start the request process.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
