Method 27

Volatile Nitrosamine Mixture I

This method is for the collection and analysis of the the following compounds: N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA), N-nitrosodipropylamine (NDPA), N-nitrosodibutylamine (NDBA), N-nitrosoiperidine (NPIP), N-nitrosopyrrolidine (NPYR), and N-nitrosomorpholine (NMOR). Samples are collected using ThermoSorb/N air samplers. The samples are desorbed with a 75/25 (v/v) dichloromethane/methanol solution. Analysis is performed by gas chromatography with Thermal Energy Analyzer detection.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
