This method is used for the determination of lead. The sample is collected on cellulose ester membrane filters, ashed in concentrated nitric acid and 30% hydrogen peroxide at 140 °C, and then analyzed by flame atomic absorption. The working range is 0.05 to >1 mg/m³ for a 200 L air sample. This method is applicable to elemental lead, including lead fume and all other aerosols containing lead. This is an elemental analysis, and is not compound specific. Aliquots of the samples can be analyzed separately for many additional elements. NOTE: This method combines and replaces P&CAM 173, S341 for lead. Method 7300 ( ICP-AES) and M7105 (AAS/GI) are alternate analytical techniques. M7505 is specific for lead sulfide.
No Obligation Quotation for Analytical Services
If you would like us to provide a quote for laboratory analysis, just provide us with as much information as you can about your project (the more, the better) and we'll provide you a quote via email. As you are searching or browsing our Analytical Guide, you'll see the Request-A-Quote icon... just click on it to start the request process.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
