This method is used for the analysis of benzoyl peroxide. The sample is collected on cellulose ester membrane filters, dissolved in ethyl ether, and analyzed by HPLC with a UV detection method. The working range is 2 to 19 mg/m³ for a 90 L air sample. NOTE: This is method S253 in a revised format. A non-specific gravimetric method and a non-specific colorimetric method appear in the criteria document.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
