This method is used for the determination of carbon black. The sample is collected on tared, PVC filter membranes in a controlled environment, and then wieghed accurately. The working range is 0.5 to 10 mg/m³ for a 200 L air sample. This method is not applicable for the determination of "cyclohexane solubles." This analysis is simple, but the method is non-specific. Informaton on any other particulate materials present should be assessed. The method may be extended to higher air concentrations (e.g., nuisance dust levels) by collecting a smaller sample volume). NOTE: This is method S262 in a revised format. It is similar except for the collecting device, to the method described in the carbon black criteria document.
No Obligation Quotation for Analytical Services
If you would like us to provide a quote for laboratory analysis, just provide us with as much information as you can about your project (the more, the better) and we'll provide you a quote via email. As you are searching or browsing our Analytical Guide, you'll see the Request-A-Quote icon... just click on it to start the request process.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
