Method 3515

1,1-Dimethylhydrazine

This method is for the determination of 1,1-Dimethylhydrazine. The sample is collected in a glass bubbler containing 10mL of 0.1M HCL. To the solution, phosphomolybdic acid is added and the sample solution is heated for 60 minutes at 95°C. The solution is cooled under tap water, transferred to a cell and then analyzed by visible spectrophotometry at 730nm. The working range is 0.008 to 1 ppm (0.02 to 2.5 mg/m³) for a 100-L air sample. This method is also applicable to ceiling measurements. Note: This revises Method S143.
