Method 2541

Formaldehyde by GC/FID

This method is suitable for the determination of formaldehyde by GC/FID. The sample is collected on XAD-2, desorbed with toluene, and analyzed using GC/FID or GC/NPD. The working range is 0.24 to 16 ppm (0.3 to 20 mg/m³) for a 10-L air sample. OSHA Method 52 is similar but uses slightly larger sampling tubes.
