Method 1401

Alcohols II

This method is for the collection and analysis of alcohols by GC/FID (flame ionization detector).  The alcohols evaluated in the method are: n-butyl alcohol, sec-butyl alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, and n-propyl alcohol.  The sample is collected on a  charcoal tube.  After collection the sample is desorbed in 1mL of 1% 2-propanol in carbon disulfide and analyzed by GC/FID.

NOTE: This method combines and replaces Methods S66, S53, S64, and S62.
