This method is for the determination of hydrazine using Hach Method 8141 which is also referred to as the p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde method. The samples are analyzed usingThe sample should be preserved in the field with 1mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid (HCl) per 100mL of sample. The method does state that the samples cannot be preserved and must be analyzed immediately.
Collect the samples with no headspace and avoid excess agitation or exposure to air.
NOTE: This method is adapted from ASTM Manual of Industrial Water, D1385-78, 376 (1979).

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
