This method is for the collection and analysis of inorganic oxyhalide disinfection by-product anions in reagent water, surface water, ground water, and finished drinking water. The specific compounds covered in the method are chlorate, chlorite, bromate and bromide. The applicable concentration ranges for the method are 5-500 ug/L for bromide, chlorite, and chlorate and 0.5-15 ug/L for bromate. The samples are analyzed using an ion chromatograph with a heated postcolumn reaction coil and a UV/VIS detector. If the sample is from a treatment plant that uses chlorine dioxide, the field sample must be sparged with an inert gas such as helium, argon or nitrogen prior to the addition of the EDA preservative at the time of sample collection.
No Obligation Quotation for Analytical Services
If you would like us to provide a quote for laboratory analysis, just provide us with as much information as you can about your project (the more, the better) and we'll provide you a quote via email. As you are searching or browsing our Analytical Guide, you'll see the Request-A-Quote icon... just click on it to start the request process.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
