Method ID-214

Ozone in Workplace Atmospheres

This method is for the determination of airborne ozone.  The sample is collected on two nitrite-impregnated glass fiber filters.  The filters are extracted with deionized water and analyzed by ion chromatography (IC) equipped with a UV/VIS detector.  A conductivity detector can also be used.

During collection, ozone reacts with the nitrite impregnated on the filter and converts it to nitrate via oxidation.
