Method 6005

Iodine by IC

This method is used for the determination of Iodine. The sample is collected on alkali-treated charcoal sorbent tubes, desorbed with sodium carbonate, and analyzed by ion chromatography. The working range is 0.05 to 5 ppm (0.5 to 50 mg/m³) for a 15 L air sample. The method is applicable to 15-min ceiling measurements. NOTE: Better sensitivity (ppb range) has been found using amperometric detection.
