Method 5514

Demeton by GC/FPD

This method is for the determination of demeton. The sample is collected on mixed cellulose ester membrane filters followed by XAD-2 sorbent tubes. The sample is desorbed 5mL toluene for 15 minutes, followed by GC analysis with a phosphorous flame photometric detection system. The working range is 0.015 to 10 mg/m³ for a 200-L air sample. The use of a capillary column, e.g., a DB-210, may improve sensitivity and resolution. Note: This revises Method S280.
