Method 3514

Ethylenimine

This method is for the determination of ethylenimine. The sample is collected through a bubbler containing Folin's reagent, extracted twice with chloroform and then analyzed by HPLC with ultraviolet detection. The working range is 0.014 to 11 ppm (0.025 to 20 mg/m³) for a 40-L air sample. A variation of this method has been used to measure ethylenimine in air at 0.02 to 0.10 mg/m³ at a manufacturing plant. Note: This method replaces Method P&CAM 300.
