Method D-240

Standard Test Method for Heat of Combustion of Liquid Hydrocarbon Fuels by Bomb Calorimeter

This method is for the determination of the heat of combustion of liquid hydrocarbon fuels ranging in volatility from that of light distillates to residual fuels. Under normal conditions the method is applicable to gasolines, kerosines, No. 1 and No. 2 fuel oil, No. 1-D and 2-D diesel fuel, and No. o-Gt, 1-GT, and 2GT gas tubine fuels. An aliquot of the sample is measured by bomb calorimeter.
