Method 632

The Determination of Carbamate and Urea Pesticides in Municipal and Industrial Wastewater

This is a high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method applicable to the determination of certain carbamate and urea pesticides in industrial and municipal discharges as provided under 40 CFR 136.1. A measured volume of sample, approximately 1 L, is extracted with methylene chloride using a separatory funnel. The  extract is dried and concentrated to a volume of 10 mL or less and analyzed by HPLC with a UV detector.  An optional Florisil column cleanup procedure to aid in the elimination or reduction of interferences from the sample matrix.

* The analytes and detection limits listed for each method represent the typical detection limits and analytes reported for that particular method. Keep in mind that analyte lists may vary from laboratory to laboratory. Detection limits may also vary from lab to lab and are dependent upon the sample size, matrix, and any interferences that may be present in the sample.
